It was a pleasure to interview you! I really struggled with the decision to retire the blog. It felt really good to share all the authors I found when I was looking for debut authors, and it was an even greater thrill to walk through the bookstore and be able to point to book after book on the shelf and say, "I interviewed that person." Plus, it ballooned my TBR pile in such a satisfying way!

I understand the frustrating balance between book promotion and writing the next book a lot better now, too. Trying to fit in all the extra that seems to be expected of authors these days must be overwhelming.

I hope to see your next book soon! And I hope I can follow in your footsteps and have a stellar breakout novel!

Rebecca, you were so kind to interview me when my debut YA novel, Sign Language, was released in August. It is so difficult not only to get that first book published, but to spread the word when you're the small fish in a big pond, so I am forever grateful to you and to other bloggers that devote their time and energy to helping new voices be heard. I am sad to hear that you will be discontinuing your blog, but am excited for you, now that you've decided to devote your time to writing. I myself have debated whether or not to start a blog, but I know that it would consume what little time I have to write, and for now that needs to stay in the forefront. Best wishes to you, and I look forward to hearing news of a book contract for you in the near future!
